Plus: a new Apple privacy setting worth switching on, how Gmail shows package status without any searching, and a scam arriving as a delivery notification
This package info. was extremely helpful, especially the scam advice from a company that canāt find you to deliver a package and requires all kinds of information that provides your identity to themš³
Iāve fallen for it once, but a long time ago. I think itās more prevalent now.
Iām glad you recommended the SHOP App. Iāve had it for about a year and itās extremely usefulā¼ļøA good Screen Skills todayš
Question: is it possible to get rid of Gmail, any Apple products and Microsoft? I mean, I know it is, but is it feasible for regular users?
Super useful information today.
I don't order much online and whenever there is a possibility to pick something up at a physical location, I do. I regularly to go Basel for a pick up - that's about 1 hour away and always worth the trip. Also, sometimes I can get stuff on the same day. Order it by 10 AM and you are guaranteed pickup by 1 PM - if they have it in stock. This is mostly electronics. I do the same for books. Find a bookshop that has "in store", hop on a train - sorted.
I do realize that being able to do this is a privilege, but that way I don't have to track packages.
Another thing I do is that I have a separate email address for online shopping. That helps a lot. It groups all emails concerning the same delivery.
Itās possible but complicated for Europeans to get rid of the domination of our electronics and communications by Trump supporting companies. Itās doable but comes with a price in the form of less options and in some cases higher prices. Iām too addicted to Apple products to be willing to make the switch but I guess the EU will give a higher priority now to developing a more independent course. Things may change later this decade. Thank you - I'm hearing that government institutions are moving away from Microsoft in France and Switzerland. I welcome that.
Great information! I did not know about 17track.net. Helpful, I will use that.
Thank you
